ROUTE · SET-01

Pre-Settled to Settled Status

Five years of continuous residence under the EU Settlement Scheme earns you Settled Status — indefinite leave to remain. Most problems at this stage come down to absences that were never counted properly.

Family & Spouse Visas

For partners, spouses, fiancé(e)s, children and parents of British citizens and settled persons. These applications are decided on evidence — of the relationship and the finances — and that is where most refusals happen.

British Citizenship — Naturalisation

Once you hold Settled Status or indefinite leave, naturalisation is the final step. The residence, absence and good-character rules are strict, and the Home Office fee is not refundable if you get them wrong.

Many children born in the UK, or to a parent who later settled, have a direct right to register as British citizens. Registration is permanent and often costs less than the visa route families assume they need.
